My painting style may be considered abstract, contemporary
or altered. With every painting, the idea is to take an image
and capture it's essence, whether it be a facial expression or
mood, and alter it so that the image is enhanced through color,
shape and composition. I love the transformation of a
standard image into a funky, whimsical piece of art that is both
pleasing to the eye and sentimental.
Every painting begins with a photograph which is altered to
create a new abstract pattern of shape and color. This pattern
is transferred to artist grade canvas and created using artist
grade acrylic paints. All paintings are gallery wrapped with
painted sides and ready for hanging. Pieces will be varnished
only upon request.
